Everyone here has completely missed the point. Apple paid taxes to the government where the product was sold. If they made a $1bil profit in France, they paid taxes on that money to the government of France. The reason companies have issues with the high repatriation tax rate is because, if they want to move that ALREADY TAXED profit to the US to fund their growth here, we charge another 35% (no deductions of any kind) on that money a second time.
